Atletico Madrid are backed with a strong interest in signing Chelsea wing-back Marcos Alonso who has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge next summer, according to reports from Todo Fichajes.
The La Liga holders are the latest entrant in the race to make a move for Alonso following Inter Milan, the player’s long-term suitors in the transfer market, reigniting their interest in landing his signature.
Alonso has proven his worth to Thomas Tuchel’s side early on in this new season and has kept out last summer’s big-money signing Ben Chilwell out of the starting teamsheet much to everyone’s surprise.

However, there has been the speculation doing the rounds that the Spain international defender might be looking for a move elsewhere should Chelsea not offer him extended terms beyond his contract expiry of 2023.
The 29-year-old is also understood to be seeking assurances of regular first-team action for the Blues which may have a major impact on his decision to stay put at the Bridge or look for a new destination.
