Dean Smith’s Aston Villa outfit are backed to be the frontrunners to land the signature of Chelsea’s wantaway striker Tammy Abraham with the Villians in line to offer £40 million for the English forward.
The Blues are understood to be looking for clubs interested in Abraham with the player certain to head out the exit door at Stamford Bridge in this summer’s transfer window.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is prioritising a deal for long-term target Erling Haaland but with Borussia Dortmund holding firm on their big-money price-tag, the German will be required to offload his fringe players for a sizable fee to free up the funds at his disposal.
Abraham had spent a year on loan at Aston Villa three summers back and the player is believed to be keen on returning to Villa Park as Dean Smith’s side hope to conclude the deal swiftly ahead of rival club West Ham United, according to reports from The Mirror.
The Hammers are also credited with showing interest in signing the England international, however, David Moyes is reluctant to fork out north of £25 million for Abraham’s signature.
