Italian side AS Roma are closely monitoring Chelsea’s striker, Romelu Lukaku, with the intention of bolstering their attacking options this summer.
According to Il Tempo, Roma plans to make their move for the Belgian international during the last moments of the transfer window.
AS Roma’s sporting director, Tiago Pinto is aware that acquiring Lukaku will be costly as Chelsea are seeking a significant transfer fee for their former record signing.
The Belgian star also demands huge wages and may need to accept a reduced salary to join Roma.
The Italian club plans to make a strong push for Lukaku during the final hours of the transfer window. The club’s CEO Lina Souloukou will travel to London to negotiate with the Blues.

Inter Milan, where he was on loan, wanted to secure his permanent transfer, but the deal fell through because Lukaku had been in discussions with Juventus.
However, Juventus lacks the financial means to pursue Lukaku and attempted to persuade Chelsea by offering £30 million and Lukaku in exchange for Dusan Vlahovic.
Tottenham Hotspur have also expressed interest in the former Manchester United striker, but they have not yet taken any action.
AS Roma are hoping that no other club will pursue the Belgian ace at this point. They intend to make their move during the final hours of the transfer window when Chelsea’s options are limited.

If everything goes as planned, Mourinho may have some promising options at his disposal, despite missing out on Alvaro Morata and Marcos Leonardo.
