AS Roma general manager Tiago Pinto is in line to make the travels to London and step up the talks with Chelsea for signing Tammy Abraham this summer.
The 23-year-old England international has been on the fringes of the Chelsea squad since the hiring of Thomas Tuchel earlier this year and has been backed to call it quits at Stamford Bridge in the ongoing transfer window.
With Arsenal and Atalanta being reckoned as the early contenders to land the Chelsea man’s signature, it is AS Roma, now under the charge of former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, who have emerged as the frontrunners to sign the striker.
Reports from The Athletic claim that Abraham is the Serie A outfit’s prime target to replace the outgoing Edin Dzeko who is imminent to make the move to domestic rivals Inter Milan with the Bosnian arriving at San Siro as Romelu Lukaku’s replacement.
Roma are understood to be keen on wrapping up Abraham’s signing on a permanent basis and will like to reach upon an agreement with Chelsea by the end of this week.
