Gianluca Mancini was one of the top performers for Serie A giants AS Roma last season with his solid showings at the back and he has emerged as a likely target for Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel this summer.
Reports from Italian news outlet Calciomercato suggest that landing Mancini’ signature in his summer’s transfer window could cost Tuchel’s Chelsea a fee worth £10 million plus Kurt Zouma moving in the opposite direction.
Tuchel could be backed to use the transfer window to bring in a fresh face to shore up his defensive options heading into the start of the 2021-22 campaign where his Blues are poised to be one of the sides aiming for title-winning glory.
Zouma was a target for his former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho while he was in the top job at fellow London outfit Tottenham Hotspur and upon his move to AS Roma ahead of the new season, the veteran manager will attempt to snap up Zouma who has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.
The France international has seen limited first-team involvement since Tuchel’s hiring in January earlier this year and has Spurs and Everton interested in his signature this summer.
