AS Roma boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly plotting a move for Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the forthcoming January transfer window.
The England international has featured sparingly for Thomas Tuchel’s side early on in this new campaign and has looked promising in his limited involvement out there on the pitch with the likes of Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante injured.
Reports from Italian news outlet Corriere dello Sport, however, suggest that Loftus-Cheek’s former Chelsea boss in Jose Mourinho who is now in charge of AS Roma wants to sign the player come January.
The Portuguese coach wants to bring in fresh blood for his midfield roster and has identified Loftus-Cheek and Tottenham Hotspur man Harry Winks as his two top targets in the build-up to the upcoming window where Mourinho will be backed to make moves in the market.
Loftus-Cheek had surprisingly failed to seal a move elsewhere this summer with the former Fulham loanee retained by Thomas Tuchel despite his misfiring loan stint at Craven Cottage last season.
