AS Monaco’s Aurelien Tchouameni emerges on Chelsea’s transfer radar amid Declan Rice blow

Chelsea could turn to the highly-promising AS Monaco man Aurelien Tchouameni to bolster their midfield should long-term target Declan Rice not end up making the move to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Reports from The Telegraph claim that Chelsea are in the fray to make an impact in the ongoing transfer window and besides registering interest in re-signing Romelu Lukaku, Thomas Tuchel is on the hunt for a midfield option as well.

Tchouameni has been a star presence on the Monaco teamsheet this past season and at just 21 years of age, he has demonstrated a real zeal when on the pitch making a number of clubs across the continent take note of his ability.

He turned out in 36 league outings for the Ligue 1 outfit and Chelsea consider the France U21 international a viable addition to their squad should they fail to land the signature of West Ham United’s Declan Rice who might stay put at David Moyes’ side beyond the summer.

Rice has long been linked with a move to his boyhood side Chelsea but Manchester United also remain in the battle to contest for his signature heading into the UEFA Euros where is tipped to play a major role for England.
