Arsenal have reportedly tabled an offer to Inter Milan for Chelsea target Denzel Dumfries who is one of the top names on Graham Potter’s wish list to reinforce his backline.
The Holland international wing-back Dumfries, on the back of his impressive displays at the ongoing World Cup in Qatar, has emerged as a priority target for some of the biggest clubs across Europe.
According to a report from Calciomercato ( via The Daily Mirror), Chelsea could be pipped to signing their long-standing target with Arsenal making the first move to beat the other suitors in the race for the Inter star Dumfries.
The Gunners are said to have included Takehiro Tomiyasu as part of a player-plus-cash deal to Inter for signing Dumfries as Chelsea face increasing competition to land the sought-after Dutchman in the aftermath of the World Cup.
Dumfries was first linked with a move to Stamford Bridge last summer but the rumours intensified when Chelsea’s first choice option in the right wing-back role, Reece James, was sidelined for the majority of the campaign with an injury.
