Arsenal look to take on Tammy Abraham this summer in an initial loan agreement

Tammy Abraham’s suitors Arsenal are understood to be willing to sign the Stamford Bridge outcast this summer on an initial loan deal with an obligation-to-buy clause included in the agreement with Chelsea.

The 23-year-old England international has fallen down the pecking order in the first-team camp at Chelsea and with Thomas Tuchel looking to bring in a fresh forward face for his side, Abraham is certain to head out the exit door in the ongoing transfer window.

Despite West Ham United and Aston Villa earlier lined up as prime candidates for signing the Englishman, it is Arsenal who have now emerged frontrunners to land Abraham’s signature with Chelsea seeking a £40 million payout from their city rivals.

Reports from the Daily Mail claim that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta remains eager on signing the Chelsea man but will look to take him on this summer in a loan deal with an obligation to sign him on a permanent basis next summer for Chelsea’s asking price of £40 million.

The Gunners have also been credited with an interest in Inter Milan’s wantaway star striker Lautaro Martinez who is a target for Thomas Tuchel as well this summer with Inter looking to part ways with the Argentine for a lofty price-tag.
