Arsenal have reportedly enquired about signing Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante this summer with the Frenchman’s contract at the Bridge up for renewal in a few months’ time.
According to a report from the French news outlet Le Parisien, which quotes an unnamed member of Kante’s entourage, who said that Premier League leaders Arsenal were interested in moving in for the former Leicester City man’s services.
“N’Golo wants to continue his career in London, where he has his habits. He liked working with Antonio Conte, but he was fired by Tottenham, Arsenal also enquired. I think he’ll extend his contract at Chelsea before perhaps leaving for the Gulf in two or three years.”
Kante’s contract situation with Chelsea has also drawn interest from the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and FC Barcelona over a potential summer move with the World Cup-winning midfielder yet to agree upon a new deal beyond the summer window.
With the current season approaching its business end, there has been fresh speculation over Kante’s future at Stamford Bridge with Chelsea still involved in talks with him to extend his stay in west London.
There is the expectation that Kante, who recently returned to full fitness from a long-term injury layoff, is keen to put pen to paper on extended terms and stay put with the Blues for at least two more years.
