Argentina’s World Cup star Alexis Mac Allister could interest Chelsea

Argentina’s World Cup star Alexis Mac Allister could interest Chelsea in the upcoming January transfer window following his stellar displays in Qatar for Lionel Scaloni’s victorious side.

Despite the Brighton CEO Paul Barber claiming recently that Mac Allister was set to stay put at the Amex, some of Europe’s biggest clubs are keeping tabs on the 23-year-old midfielder after an influential campaign at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

According to a report from The Daily Express, the Blues, who are in the market for new legs to reinforce their midfield roster, could emerge as one of the contenders for Mac Allister’s signature.

Chelsea are preparing for life without their long-serving midfield generals Jorginho and N’Golo Kante with both stalwarts out of contract at Stamford Bridge come the end of the season and linked with moves elsewhere.

While La Liga giants FC Barcelona are closing in on a pre-contract agreement to sign Kante next summer, Jorginho is subject to interest from his homeland Italy with Juventus and Napoli weighing up an approach for the Chelsea maestro.
