Antonio Rudiger has opened up on Bayern Munich transfer speculation with the rumours doing the rounds that the player was a top target for the Germans heading into the January transfer window.
The Chelsea central defender will be free to negotiate pre-contract terms with his suitor clubs in the market which include the likes of Bayern, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
Bayern have been understood to be right in the mix for Rudiger’s signature with the talk of the Bundesliga champions reaching out to the player’s representatives gaining ground as of late.
Speaking to reporters in a recent press conference ( via Goal), Rudiger has admitted that the interest credited to Bayern Munich for his signature has came as an honour to him and shows that he has been a top performer on the football pitch.
Rudiger, however, dismissed suggestions that he was looking for a move away from Stamford Bridge upon the expiry of his contract with the Germany international asserting he was happy with the Blues.
“Of course, I’m honoured by [Bayern’s interest] and it proves that I’ve been doing things right.”
“But I won’t let myself become distracted.
“I have an obligation to my club to perform well. I have to prove myself in every game and not let myself be distracted by rumours.
“I feel good at Chelsea where I am now, so that suits me.”
