Germany international central defender Antonio Rudiger is believed to be holding out on signing a new long-term deal with Chelsea and end the uncertainty which has surrounded his future at Stamford Bridge.
Rudiger has been one of the top performers on the Chelsea team sheet since the hiring of Thomas Tuchel to the top job earlier this year following which the new boss has handed regular first-team action to his fellow German.
However, with the 28-year-old centre-back having his current deal at the Bridge coming to a close in less than 12 months, Chelsea have been unable to tie down the former AS Roma man to extended terms amid interest from PSG and Spurs in Rudiger’s signature.
Reports from German outlet Sport1 have indicated that Rudiger’s brother Sahr Senesie is drawn into talks of a new contract with Chelsea’s sporting director Marina Granovskaia who is keen on Rudiger extending his stay with the Blues.
Wage demands are understood to be a major concern for the player whose £100,000 per week salary puts him way down the list of Chelsea players pocketing a sizable amount while turning out for the UEFA Champions League holders.
