Chelsea fans were curious to know who would lead after Jody Morris’ exit following Frank Lampard’s departure. It was Anthony Barry, who was seen the following day leading the Blues as per SB Nation reports.
After a long time of restless hustle and breath-taking decisions, Chelsea got into training before appointing Thomas Tuchel as the coach. The first thing that something big was about enunciating today was Chelsea players reportedly being told to not report to Cobham for training, as usual, this morning.
But, as it is said, the show must go on so, even after another manager is sacked and a new manager is about to take on the responsibilities, the players were back in training by the afternoon. The training session was headed by assistant coaches Anthony Barry and Joe Edwards. They supported the players to begin the preparations for the coming games at Stamford Bridge.
Obviously, with no Frank Lampard or Jody Morris anymore, the training was led by coaches Anthony Barry and Joe Edwards. Amongst them, Barry seems the most likely to take over on a brief interim basis until Thomas Tuchel was officially appointed and announced as the head coach and manager for the Blues.
Edwards will hopefully get to stay and continue his role as a trainee and the youth coach at Chelsea and can even assist Tuchel as well.
