Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez reportedly favours a move to Stamford Bridge with Chelsea still in the mix for his signature after their offer was turned down in the summer.
The Mexico international has been linked with a move away from Ajax with the Dutch top flight giants resigned to losing their midfield maestro with some of Europe’s biggest clubs credited with an interest.
According to a report from football.london, it is claimed that the Blues remain keen on Alvarez with Graham Potter’s Blues very much in the transfer market for a new signing to bolster their midfield roster in the coming months.
There is speculation that Chelsea could come back in for the player in the New Year when the transfer window reopens for business and Potter will look to bolster his squad which has come under fire for its underwhelming displays.
Chelsea are expected to lose both Jorginho and N’Golo Kante at the end of the season with their terms up for renewal and interest from abroad high in securing the duo’s services on a Bosman transfer.
