AC Milan are making progress in the pursuit of Chelsea’s veteran striker Olivier Giroud who has been heavily backed to call it quits at Stamford Bridge ahead of the start of the 2021-22 season.
Fabrizio Ramano has claimed that the San Siro giants are in touch with Giroud’s agents and that contracts will be sorted out in the next few hours before his impending move to Italy.
Giroud to leave Chelsea for AC Milan very shortly
The World Cup-winning France international has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge since the appointment of Thomas Tuchel to the Chelsea top job in January this year.
With AC Milan looking to land another signature from the Chelsea camp this summer after signing Fikayo Tomori on a permanent basis earlier, Giroud will hope to get on the flight to Milan in the very near future.
The veteran’s departure could hasten Chelsea’s approach for Haaland
One player that has been long linked with a switch to the west London giants this summer has been the Borussia Dortmund talisman Erling Haaland who is sure to cost Tuchel a fee north of £150 million.

It remains to be seen whether Giroud’s imminent exit from the club would force Tuchel into hastening the approach for Haaland’s transfer with Dortmund sticking to their guns on retaining the player beyond this summer.
