Chelsea FC find themselves linked once again with a move for Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey this summer. The former Arsenal man has failed to cement his spot in the Serie A giants playing XI since his move to Turin last summer.
And now with the dismissal of Maurizio Sarri as the manager of the Old Lady, and the subsequent appointment of Andrea Pirlo, Ramsey’s future at the Italian giants is looking very uncertain. The Welsh international could be offloaded this summer, according to recent reports.
Despite the 29-year old being a squad player at Juventus, his wages are believed to be a source of concern. Ramsey commands a very high figure of £250,000-a-week and is one of the highest earners at the Serie A club. However, Pirlo is believed to be reluctant on keeping the midfielder at the Old Lady beyond this summer.
The newly hired boss, a former player for Juventus himself, is keen on offloading a wide variety of first-team players ahead of next season. With the impending arrival of Arthur Melo from FC Barcelona, Ramsey’s first-team involvement is understood to be limited come next season.
The Blues had been known to be interested in making a move for the 29-year old following his Arsenal exit. However, at that time the player had chosen to sign for Juventus at the prospect of playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.
Frank Lampard could look to strengthen his midfield options at Stamford Bridge ahead of next season. N’Golo Kante has been struggling with injury issues of late over the past season, whereas Jorginho and Ross Barkley have been quite inconsistent in their form for the Blues.
