Chelsea striker, Tammy Abraham has hailed his coach Frank Lampard’s half-time pep talk that made Chelsea’s comeback possible at West Brom.
The 22 years old striker scored an injury-time equalizer that made the scoreline 3-3 to give Chelsea one point. Lampard’s team came from trailing 3-0 to 3-3 in the second half.

Impressive attacking displays from Mason Mount and Callum Hudson-Odoi made two goals for Chelsea before Abraham score in the added time of the game. Callum Robinson’s brace along with Kyle Bartley gave Albion a surprise lead in the first half which made the Chelsea players’ morale down.
Lampard’s pep talk charged the boys up and made them believe in a comeback.
“We went in at half-time and everyone was a bit down and so the manager had to lift us up,” he told the club’s official site.
“He said we don’t look like a team right now willing to go out in the second half and as a team, we had to lift each other, and you could see that in the performance in the second half.
“We knew we had to come out in the second half and keep going and not drop our heads and that is what we did,” said Tammy.
The young striker also admitted that he had a golden opportunity in the first half of the match which he should have converted. He regrets his not converting the chances he got although he did score at the end.
“I should have put away, someone at my level should take those chances. We had a few chances in the first half while West Brom scored from every shot.”
“When the first few chances don’t go in you start to panic a bit and we made a few errors. At our level, we should not make those errors, but we are still a work in progress and hopefully we can improve,” he added.
Abraham added: “First of all we need to cut out the mistakes as a team, not just defensive work, so we don’t concede. We need to be strong together and keep encouraging one another.”
Yet he is optimistic about his future and believing his team capable to compete for the Premier League title this season.
West Brom player, Robinson scored a brace from the errors of Marcos Alonso and Thiago Silva which eventually helped his team go 3-0 up in only 30 minutes. It was a dramatic night with an equally dramatic comeback.
