Ligue 1 club, Stade Rennais have failed to convince Chelsea FC to add striker Olivier Giroud or defender Fikayo Tomori to the ongoing deal involving Édouard Mendy.
Chelsea are keen to bring goalkeeper, Édouard Mendy to Samford Bridge after Kepa Arrizabalaga gave a horrid performance between the sticks in the previous season. Chelsea coach wants to make this deal happen as he plans to increase competition in the goalkeeping spot.
Mendy to Chelsea imminent (again) according to L'Equipe. But this time it actually is!
No players involved (Tomori to Everton? 🤔).

But as per the latest rumors from France, the Ligue 1 club is making a swap option deal for Chelsea despite the move being almost completed. The negotiations are continuing for quite a long time between both the clubs as an agreement cannot be reached upon the transfer fee for the Frenchman.
The reports initially said about Rennes moving for another player from some other clubs but soon they took a U-Turn in this matter. They have put their focus on not just receiving money from the deal but also a player from Lampard’s side.
They have a target to bring Olivier Giroud or Fikayo Tomori on loan, but Lampard has rejected the offer since he believes he will need both the men in the current 2020-21 season.
Mendy is an ideal option for Lampard’s side after getting failing to land Oblak from Atletico. The player himself is keen to join the Blues and it is just a matter of time before this annoying negotiation ends.
