Fikayo Tomori is nearing a loan exit from Chelsea FC following the arrival of Thiago Silva at Stamford Bridge. The former Paris Saint-Germain center-back signed for Frank Lampard’s side on a potential two-year deal and looks highly likely to be a regular starter for the Blues next season.
Prior to Silva’s arrival, Tomori along with Antonio Rudiger, Kurt Zouma, and Andreas Christensen were the four first-team center-back options at the west London club. And it seems as if it will be the 22-year old Tomori who will be given the axe ahead of next season, however, not on a permanent basis.
The ex-England U21 international is seen as a bright prospect by Lampard. Moreover, despite struggling for form since the turn of the year, Tomori had been an influential performer for Chelsea FC in the initial half of the 2019-20 Premier League season.
However, with the player having featured just three times for the Blues this year, Tomori’s exit looks highly possible. Frank Lampard will be hoping that the youngster gets some valuable game time on his loan stint to further his credentials as a future first-team player for the Stamford Bridge outfit.
Everton and Fulham are two clubs who have reportedly been in contact with Chelsea FC over Tomori’s availability. The former is being considered the frontrunner to land the 22-year old center-back should the Blues’ be open to sanctioning the player’s loan sale this summer.
