Kai Havertz’s move to Chelsea FC could be wrapped up in the coming days, according to recent reports. The Blues had intensified their transfer approach for the German international after Bayer Leverkusen insisted on being paid €100 million to let go of their star attacker this summer.
It is believed that the Blues will pay an initial amount worth €80 million for Havertz that will be accepted by the Bundesliga outfit. However, to give into Leverkusen’s pricing demands for the 21-year old, Chelsea FC will also shell out a further €20 million in add-ons to the German club.

The payment of the add-on bonuses depends upon the west London club’s success across different competitions. Havertz had been Frank Lampard’s priority signing ahead of the 2020-21 season for the Blues. However, Chelsea FC had been constantly priced out of a deal for the German starlet despite repeated attempts in recent weeks.
The arrival of the 21-year old attacker at Stamford Bridge has been preceded by Chelsea FC signing Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech earlier this year. All three players are tipped to lead a new-look frontline for the Blues to come next season.
Havertz has been a standout performer for his side over the last few seasons with his attacking acumen coming in handy for the German side. A number of top clubs across Europe such as Bayern Munich and Real Madrid had been interested in signing the highly-rated youngster, however, it is Chelsea FC who are going to walk away with the player’s signature.
