Tammy Abraham is hopeful of marking the legacy of his playing career as a fruitful one by winning as many laurels as possible, as was revealed by the 22-year old Chelsea FC forward in a recent interview.
The English international enjoyed a wonderful first season in the Blues shirt across the 2019-20 campaign for Frank Lampard’s men. Abraham was the club’s leading goal scorer over the course of last season with 15 goals, coupled with three assists.
However, the youngster did suffer a downturn in form towards the second half of the season. His inability to find the back of the net in nearly three months meant that the much more experienced French striker Olivier Giroud displaced the English international from a spot in Chelea FC’s starting XI.
Abraham voiced his intention of looking back at his career as full of glory when he finally decides to hang up his boots. The 22-year added that he aspired to win as many trophies as possible over the length of his playing time to solidify his credentials as a great player in the future.
“I want to look back on my career when I retire saying I left everything out there and I did the best I could.
“Of course, I want achievements like the Premier League, Champions League, World Cups, Golden Boots.
“I have all of that on my radar but my aim is just to be able to retire and say I did it all.”
The ex-Aston Villa loanee also recalled the memorable feeling of getting his first competitive cap for the English national team last year. Abraham has since then featured four times for the Three Lions, scoring once in the process.
“The feeling of getting called up for England is massive because it means that you’re doing the right things and everyone knows what you’re doing.
“It hit me on my first call-up. After growing up watching the likes of Harry Kane, Jamie Vardy, Raheem Sterling and Jordan Henderson, actually being on the same pitch as them and training with them day-in, day-out was a mad feeling for me.
