Inter Milan remain hopeful of securing the signing of Chelsea FC midfielder N’Golo Kante ahead of next season. According to reports, the Serie A outfit’s boss Antonio Conte considers Kante to be an essential addition to the Nerazzurri first-team squad for the forthcoming campaign.
There were rumors earlier this summer that the 29-year old Kante may be offloaded amid interest in the Frenchman from other clubs. Chelsea FC boss Frank Lampard was believed to be open to the idea of selling Kante to accommodate the arrival of long-term target Kai Havertz.
Moreover, in the event of Kante’s sale to the Nerazzurri, Lampard would have greater funds at his disposal to finance his future signings. The Blues coach is still desperate to add a new goalkeeper and a center-back to his side this summer.
Kante struggled for minutes on the pitch for Chelsea FC this past season due to successive injury problems. The French international spent a significant period of time on the sidelines owing to a recurring hamstring issue.
Frank Lampard chose to award greater first-team involvement to teenage midfielder Billy Gilmour in Kante’s absence. The Scottish international made a major impact on the Blues’ fortunes across their 2019-20 league campaign and impressed his manager as well as Chelsea FC supporters with his displays on the pitch.
