Bayer Leverkusen make an approach for Chelsea FC target Andre Onana

Long-term Chelsea FC target Andre Onana has reportedly been approached by Bayer Leverkusen who are interested in signing the goalkeeper this from Ajax this summer. Onana is believed to one of the few shot-stopper’s identified by Chelsea FC boss Frank Lampard to replace Kepa in goal for the Blues next season.

Pursuing Onana’s transfer will not be a difficult task for the Blues, unlike some of their other transfer dealings. The 24-year old goalkeeper is rumoured to keen on securing a move to Stamford Bridge this summer. Moreover, Ajax have already made it clear that they will let the Cameroonian international depart if a reasonable bid arrives their way.

According to reports, Bayer Leverkusen have tabled an opening bid worth €20 million for Onana. However, Ajax have rejected the German side’s offer in the hope of holding out for a better proposition. The Dutch giants are believed to be wanting €30 million to let Onana leave The Johan Cruyff Arena.

A €30 million bid can easily be matched by the Blues as a consequence of the vast financial resources present at Lampard’s disposal. The Blues manager will be eager on signing a goalkeeper who could change the club’s fortunes between the sticks.

Kepa looks certain to be on his way towards the exit door of Stamford Bridge as witnessed by recent events. The Spanish international was dropped for the Blues’ final Premier League game of the season on Sunday afternoon.

Replacing Kepa in goal against Wolves was the 38-year old Willy Cabellero, who did well to keep a clean sheet in a 2-0 victory for Frank Lampard’s side. La Liga sides Valencia and Sevilla remain interested in signing the 25-year old Kepa this summer on a loan deal.

However, reports suggest Lampard’s desire for sealing a permanent move elsewhere for his axed Chelsea FC shot-stopper. The Blues manager may then use the funds obtained from the Spaniard’s sale to finance the signing of his new goalkeeping option for the club.
