Blues owner makes personal contact with long-term Chelsea FC target

Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich has made contact with Blues target Kai Havertz with the motive of convincing the young German to seal a move to Stamford Bridge in the summer and to fend off interest from other sides interested in securing his services.

Chelsea FC are facing a widely contested battle to sign Havertz, who has excelled for Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen in recent seasons and has been tipped to leave the club in the upcoming summer transfer window. With the restart of the Bundesliga a few weeks ago, the 21-year old German international has put in an impressive shift for his current side which has led to more top European teams take notice of the young attacking midfielder.

The Blues led by their manager Frank Lampard have been rampant in their transfer dealings in recent weeks. The signing of the brilliant Hakim Ziyech was finalized earlier this year with Chelsea FC agreeing on a deal with Ajax for the Moroccan international.

Moreover, the Blues hijacked their arch-rivals Liverpool FC’s bid to sign Timo Werner from RB Leipzig, with Jurgen Klopp not being keen on spending a great amount of money on signing the German striker. The recent weeks have indicated that Lampard has Kai Havertz and Ben Chilwell on the top of his shopping list ahead of the start of the 2020-21 campaign.

Roman Abramovich is ready to back his former player and current manager of the Chelsea FC side, Frank Lampard, with considerable funds to finance the Blues spending spree which is expected to continue for the near future.

Abramovich, who is a billionaire from Russia, and is known to have significant wealth, is more than ready to agree to Leverkusen’s asking price of £90 million for Havertz. The Russian tycoon has a reputation of wanting the best for his Premier League side and has backed his interest with substantial financial backing in the past.

Abramovich’s attempt to persuade Havertz on moving to London to play for Chelsea FC comes amid reports that Leverkusen have rejected Real Madrid’s initial offer to signing their player with the Bundesliga outfit sticking to their asking price of £90 million.

It is believed that Havertz is known to be wanting a move to the Spanish league and desires of playing for the Los Blancos under Zinedine Zidane.
