Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso is reported to be sitting at the top of Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte’s summer transfer window wishlist for 2020/21 season when it comes to left backs according to a report.
Conte has long been a fan of Alonso and took him to Chelsea 2016 and the pair could well be reunited in the coming months.
Whilst Chelsea would prefer to offload Emerson Palmieri rather than Alonso, it is understood that Alonso is very tempted by the prospect of a return to Italy, where he has already represented Fiorentina.
The Spanish left back started his career in Real Madrid. He then went to the Bolton Wanderers in England and the well known Italian club Fiorentina where he made a name for himself. Chelsea had signed him from Fiorentina in 2016 for an estimated wage of £24 million.
Marcos Alonso plays as a left back or left wing back position in the Chelsea F.C squad where he boosts both the attacking and defending capabilities of the team. Alonso provides the quick attacking play option from the left hand side of the ground with his great pace and stamina which also helps him to fall back as quickly to fulfill his defending responsibilities.
Due to these quick runs, up and down the pitch, he creates more chances for the forward players in penalty box to score goals and improves the team creativity and chemistry.
Marcos Alonso, played for Chelsea club for four years, during which he scored 24 goals in 164 appearances for the club. This season Alonso has made 20 appearances across all competitions to date. In almost 1600 minutes on the field, he has scored four goals and tallied three assists.
The report goes on to add that Inter have good relations with 29-year-old former Bolton Wanderers player Alonso’s representatives and it suggests that due to this it should not be too difficult to reach an agreement over personal terms.
