Rudiger’s Message To Racists

Chelsea’s central defender Antonio Rudiger told those responsible for racism in football grounds to “get some basic education” after he was the victim of alleged abuse in the 2-0 Premier League win against Spurs in the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

Rudiger was involved in an incident that saw South Korean attacker Son Heung-min sent off in the second half of the game and the German defender told the match officials he had been targeted by apparent racism from the supporters in the stands.

Between the incidents until the end of the contest, there was an announcement made over the public address system at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium which confirmed the racism towards Rudiger, “Racist behavior from spectators is interfering with the game.”

41-year-old Blues manager Frank Lampard confirmed that Rudiger and Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta reported the matter to Premier League officials afterward and the former Roma star posted a tweet on social media to make his feelings clear about what message he wanted to send towards the racists.

The 26-year-old center back posted a picture on Twitter with the caption that read, “Biiiiiiig Wiiin!”, “#NoToRacism #PleaseGetSomeBasicEducation #AlwaysBelieve #Hustle #cleansheet.

Racism is something that must be dealt with during the game and avoided at all costs but it seems to be getting out of hand and it is extremely sad that even in today’s world such issues need tackling and basic education.
