Chelsea vs Bournemouth: Player Ratings

Chelsea slumped to a shock 1-0 defeat against struggling Bournemouth on Saturday as Dan Gosling’s late goal extended the Blues’ recent poor run in the Premier League. Frank Lampard’s side has now lost four of their last five league games following Gosling’s clever strike six minutes from full-time at Stamford Bridge.

Player Ratings

Kepa Arrizabalaga, 6

Didn’t have much to do in the game but was able to deal with any oncoming pressure from the visitors until he was caught off his line for Gosling’s match-winning goal.

Cesar Azpilicueta- 5

The Spaniard joined in with attacks on occasion to good effect but did not have the easiest afternoon going backward against the excellent Ryan Fraser.

Was targeted by Eddie Howe’s side and will be under pressure in the coming games.

Antonio Rudiger – 8

A couple of huge blocks showed Blues fans just what they’ve been missing, showed his class with some expert piece of defending against Josh King. Chelsea has missed his presence this season.

Kurt Zouma – 6

A number of excellent headed clearances kept Bournemouth at bay while a brilliant recovery denied King when he looked certain to score.

Emerson, 5

Certainly doesn’t lack confidence when drifting forward, but Missed a sitter in the second-half when he somehow headed straight at Ramsdale from six yards. Showed why Chelsea have been linked with Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell.

N’Golo Kante – 5

Busy as usual but found it difficult to get Chelsea going forward Lampard will be better served to play his him as the deepest midfielder in his system.

Jorginho – 6

The lovely pass found Mount inside the opening minutes, demonstrating the Italian’s range and vision.

Helped the Blues gain greater control of the match as it wore on in the second half.

Willian – 7

Looked industrious and tried to make things happen against a resolute Bournemouth defense. Faded in the second half and was subbed.

Mason Mount – 6

Should have done better with an early chance when he was denied by Ramsdale. He played some poor passes and looked frustrated throughout. Lampard might need to take him out of the side for a while.

Christian Pulisic, 5

Moments of brilliance were few and far between for the American today as he was kept pretty quiet by Bournemouth. Hauled off on 65 minutes in what was a disappointing afternoon.

Tammy Abraham – 5

Hit the side netting when he turned Azpilicueta’s cross goalwards and wasted two more good headed chances in a disappointing display. Subbed for Batshuayi in the second half.
