Frank Lampard Admits That Manchester City Are Not Vulnerable

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard does not believe that Manchester City has suffered any drop off in quality from last season, and also added that Chelsea’s hopes of lodging a title challenge will not come to an end if they lose on at the Etihad on Saturday.

The Blues currently sit in third place on the Premier League table just one place and a point above the English champions Manchester City, and head to the Etihad Stadium this weekend on the back of six consecutive Premier League wins.

However, on the other hand, Manchester City lost 3-1 against Premier League leaders Liverpool at Anfield prior to the international break, taking their tally of losses to three for this season.

However, the 41-year-old Chelsea boss Lampard does not see City as being more vulnerable at the moment than they were last season and insists that the Chelsea will not be downhearted if they come on the wrong side of the result.

Lampard spoke in his pre match press conference and was asked whether Manchester City are a bit more vulnerable this season and he replied and said, “I don’t think so. Premier League football, it’s quite casual to say they’ve lost three games so they aren’t as strong as last year. I still see them as the same. What they have and what they can do to teams, I’ve been watching a lot of them in the international break. They’ve had their injury problems in defensive areas but they’re a great team, a big as a threat as they’ve always been in recent years.”

The Blues have been in great form off late and Lampard is doing a fine job in his first season with the club despite the transfer ban the club had to endure but they have been showing signs of getting better and better.
