Chelsea’s Injury Crisis Ahead Of The Trip To Wolves

Chelsea faces Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux Stadium on Saturday looking for just their second win this season. Lampard’s Chelsea are facing an injury crisis ahead of their game on Saturday with as many as four players ruled out and a further four just coming back from injury.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is ruled out for the near future after picking up an injury during an end of the season friendly, Reece James is out until the end of the month after picking up an ankle ligament injury.

Emerson will also miss the game after picking up an injury while on international duty with Italy, despite initial fears the injury was deemed not serious and he is set to miss only the trip to Wolves,

Callum Hudson-Odoi is only just returning from a serious injury he picked up last season he will play for Chelsea’s U-23 side as they take on Brighton & Hove Albion on Friday afternoon.

On the positive side N’golo Kante, Antonio Rüdiger, Pedro, and Mateo Kovacic are all expected to return on Saturday but neither might be deemed fit enough to play the full 90 minutes,

Lampard will hope that N’golo Kante can put his injury troubles behind him after skipping international duty in order to fully recover from a knee injury.

Lampard will also be delighted with Rudiger’s return from injury after Chelsea’s defensive issues this season, the German defender if fit will most likely replace Kurt Zouma in central defense.

Chelsea has conceded nine goals in four Premier League games this season and will want to shore up their defense against Wolves.
