Dutch midfielder Juan Castillo has officially returned to his native in Ajax on a season-long loan for the 2019/20 campaign.
Chelsea suffered a transfer ban and are Frank Lampard is the unfortunate man to experience the ill effects of the embargo as he took charge of the club in the summer. The 41-year-old Englishman succeeded Italian mastermind Maurizio Sarri at the West London club after just one year of management with Derby County in the Championship and almost led them to Premier League promotion.
But with the transfer ban, Lampard has managed to bring back players at Stamford Bridge that were on loan elsewhere. Along with the arrivals, there have also been a few departures and midfielder Juan Castillo is the latest player to leave the club on loan as the Dutchman joined Ajax earlier yesterday.
Castillo initially joined Chelsea back in 2016 from the Dutch giants Ajax and has helped the Chelsea U-18’s to win several trophies including the back to back Youth Cups in 2017 and 2018. Most recently, Castillo has helped Chelsea reach the final of the UEFA Youth League over the past two seasons.
However, the 19-year-old will get his first taste of playing football at a senior level at Ajax in the Eredivisie as he plays for the Dutch champions as he joins them on loan for the remainder of the season.
