Goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen of Villarreal is reportedly on a wanted list of a number of Premier League clubs including Chelsea. With Enzo Maresca expected to take over as head coach on a long-term basis, the Blues are gearing up for major changes.
Maresca is in charge of Chelsea’s recruitment team which is concentrated on signing players who complement his style of playmaking particularly those who can help create play from behind.
Maresca has stated that he prefers goalkeepers who are skilled with their feet—a necessary skill for starting many attacks. Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic are Chelsea’s current goalkeeping options.
Nonetheless the team is considering the prospect of bringing Jorgensen on board in order to bolster their group in advance for the upcoming campaign.
Chelsea may formally approach Villarreal for Jorgensen according to Relevos report. Wolverhampton Wanderers and Newcastle United, two Premier League teams are interested in signing the 22-year-old Denmark Under-21 international.

Negotiations may be more difficult because Jorgensen, a Swedish native is bound to Villarreal till the summer of 2027.
Jorgensen’s stature has increased because of his 36 La Liga starts even though Villarreal was unable to advance to any European competition for the following season. Due to his progress through Villarreal’s academy system, a transfer could have a substantial financial impact and improve the clubs standing with UEFA.
Gabriel Slonina, is a young prospect who Chelsea is also watching to make his first team debut. Though, Chelsea may not be ready for him until 2025 while they assess their goalkeeping options.
While Newcastle has been connected to other talented players they are currently searching for a goalkeeper to rival Nick Pope.
As their starting goalkeeper right now, Wolves turn to Jose Sa from Portugal but Saudi Arabian and European teams may make offers for him.

Wolves would probably only make an investment in a new goalkeeper if they sell Sa hoping to strengthen their backup options beyond Daniel Bentley due to budgetary constraints.
