Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko could be on his way out of the club following interest from Turkish club Galatasaray on another season-long deal.
Bakayoko arrived at Chelsea back in the summer of 2017 from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco in a £40 million move and a big reputation as well. The defensive midfielder was immense for Monaco when they won the French League title but endured a difficult time adapting to the pace of the Premier League with Chelsea.
Bakayoko was brought in to fill in the void left by Nemanja Matic but wasn’t able to settle in at Stamford Bridge and Chelsea decided to send the Frenchman out on loan to Serie A outfit AC Milan last term in order for the midfielder to receive regular football.
But Frank Lampard’s appointment as Chelsea manager meant that each player would be given fresh starts to prove themselves to the 41-year-old. But it seems that Bakayoko is not in Lampard’s plans for the upcoming season.
Chelsea decided to sign Mateo Kovacic on a permanent deal and there might not be any place for Bakayoko to attain regular football at Chelsea. The midfield gem has not been involved in the last two preseason friendlies and Bakayoko himself is keen to move on.
Milan was initially offered to sign Bakayoko but was put off by Chelsea’s £32 million asking prices. Now, Turkish giants, Galatasaray are interested in signing Bakayoko in the summer as they look to dominate the Super Lig once again this season.
However, the Turkish champions are looking to sign Bakayoko on a loan deal as they cannot afford his price tag.
