N’Golo Kante Sent Home From Preseason Training After Injury

The latest reports have claimed that French midfielder N’golo Kante has been sent back to Stamford Bridge following an injury scare at Chelsea’s preseason training camp in Japan.

Since arriving from Leicester City back in the summer of 2016, Kante has become an imperative player for Chelsea in the center of the pitch. The combative midfielder has racked up 142 appearances for Chelsea in the past three seasons and become quite a fan favorite at Stamford Bridge.

With new manager Frank Lampard taking over the reins at Chelsea, Kante will be desperate to impress his new boss and be at full strength. However, Kante faces a race against time to get back to full fitness in Chelsea’s Premier League season opener against Manchester United on 11th August.

It is reported that Kante has suffered a knee injury during Chelsea’s preseason training in Japan and the club do not want to risk him suffering a major issue. The 28-year-old has returned to Chelsea and is receiving the best of treatment so that he can be fit for the upcoming season and given enough time to recover.

Lampard and the rest of the Chelsea squad will return back to England in a week’s time and hopefully, Kante is fit enough for the preseason games against Reading, RB Salzburg and Monchengladbach before making the trip to Old Trafford where Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be waiting.

Kante’s influence and energy on the pitch will be a key factor for Chelsea and Lampard will be praying that Kante will be available for selection in his midfield for the blockbuster clash against Manchester United.
