Brentford are reportedly looking for a fee in excess of £70 million for Chelsea target Ivan Toney who is mulling over leaving the club come January.
The Blues, who are back on the search for reinforcements to bolster their misfiring front line, have identified Toney as a viable option to move in for when the transfer window reopens for business next year.
According to a report from Football Insider, it is claimed that Brentford have slapped an eyewatering £70 million price tag on the one time England international Toney who is serving an eight-month suspension for breaching betting regulations.
He is eligible to return to action on January 17 and speculation remains rife over his future with the Bees as some of the biggest Premier League clubs, including the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, keep tabs on his situation.
Spurs lost their long serving talisman Harry Kane to Bayern Munich in the summer and Ange Postecoglou’s attempt to line up Richarlison as the new leader of the front line has failed to inspire confidence so far.
