Former Chelsea Defender Believes Lampard Will Do Extremely Well At The Club

Ex-Chelsea captain John Terry has backed Frank Lampard to go on and become a great fit as a manager for the Blues if he is appointed for the job.

There is a lot of speculation over who is set to take up the Chelsea job after Maurizio Sarri decided to step down from the post after just one season in charge of the club. Despite winning his first trophy in his managerial career in the form of the Europa League, Sarri opted to return to Italy to join Juventus.

Former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard is the favorite candidate to succeed the 60-year-old Sarri and even though the 41-year-old does not have the experience of managing a top club, Lampard’s former teammate John Terry has stated that he would be a great fit for Chelsea, with the timing perfect as he prepared to leave Derby County.

The 38 year old former Chelsea defender John Terry spoke to the Daily Mail and said that Lampard would be the best-equipped candidate for the Chelsea job as he has dealt with pressure as a player as West London, “After the season he has had with Derby and with Chelsea’s transfer ban in place, there is no-one better equipped than Frank to succeed at Chelsea. It is perfect timing for him and the club, Frank was under pressure to succeed at Chelsea the day he arrived from West Ham and he never hid from that. He reveled in it and went on to become Chelsea’s greatest-ever player. Lamps is a legend and now is the right time for him to come home”

Chelsea will suffer a transfer ban for a whole year which means that the Blues will not be able to sign players for two transfer window. Even Belgian star winger Eden Hazard left the club and Lampard will face a tricky situation when he takes over at Chelsea.
