Former Chelsea Boss Takes A Swipe At Eden Hazard

Italian manager Maurizio Sarri left Chelsea last week after just one season in charge of the Blues has taken a sly dig at Eden Hazard following the Belgian’s move to Real Madrid recently.

Sarri was unveiled as Juventus manager yesterday following his departure from Stamford Bridge. The 60-year-old won his first major title in his 30-year managerial career when he lifted the Europa League with the West London club last month.

One player who was vital towards achieving a third-place finish for Chelsea on the Premier League table as well as winning the Europa League was Belgian superstar Eden Hazard. The star winger scored 21 goals for the Blues in his last season at Stamford Bridge including two in the final against local London rivals Arsenal.

But Hazard completed his dream move to the Santiago Bernabeu earlier this week in a stunning £130 million deal but Sarri took a bit of a jibe at the 28-year-old stating that he was causing defensive problems for Chelsea when the duo was together in the Premier League last season.

At his first press conference as Juventus manager Sarri said, “We had to accommodate Hazard’s characteristics. He could change the game, but his presence caused issues in defending that we had to work on.”

Sarri immediately went on to claim that working with Portuguese talisman Cristiano Ronaldo would be a step further in his managing career making Hazard the scapegoat, “I coached some very strong players, but training him will be yet another step forward. I’d like to help him break some new records.”

Hazard is widely regarded as one of the best players in the world but Sarri clearly took out his frustrations of managing Chelsea on the Belgian winger as he began a comparison with Ronaldo in a bid to degrade Hazard.
