Chelsea have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Villarreal’s talented forward Nicolas Jackson with the west Londoners on a search for a new striker.
The 21-year-old Senegal international has been an impressive name on the team sheet for Villarreal and the La Liga outfit are bracing themselves for interest to arrive from elsewhere in the player’s services this summer.
According to a report from the Evening Standard, it is claimed that Chelsea met with Jackson’s representatives last week to discuss a potential move to west London for the youngster later in the year.
The La Liga talent will come as a cheaper alternative to Chelsea’s long standing target – Napoli talisman Victor Osimhen who has a price tag of £100 million on his head and is wanted by some of the biggest clubs across Europe.
Atalanta forward Rasmus Hojlund and Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic are said to be the other names on Chelsea’s shortlist of candidates with the Blues desperate to bolster a front line which had misfired for the majority of last season.
