Inter Milan will soon hold talks with Chelsea over the future of the on-loan forward Romelu Lukaku who could be set for another loan spell away from west London.
The Blues had shipped out the Belgium international to his former club Inter last summer after Lukaku failed to impress upon his return to the Bridge following a £97.5 million move from the Nerazzurri the year before.
According to a report from the Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport, Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly is expected to go into crunch discussions with the Inter camp over extending Lukkau’s stay at San Siro beyond the upcoming summer transfer window.
There is the expectation that Lukaku will lower his salary demands in order to convince Inter to sign him in another season-long loan deal while the Italian outfit’s qualification for the Champions League next season will also be key to the situation.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are all but certain to prioritise signing a new striker for their squad this summer with loan signing Joao Felix likely to be on his way back to parent club Atletico Madrid come the end of the season.
