Chelsea are involved in a three-horse race for soon to be free agent Marco Asensio with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur also chasing the Spanish attacker.
Asesnio is set to head into free agency this summer with the playmaker not renewing his terms with Real Madrid who had opened talks over a new deal last December that appeared to have failed.
According to a report from The Sun, it is claimed that Chelsea are keeping tabs on the long-serving Real Madrid man but face heavy competition from within the Premier League to land Asensio’s signature.
Premier League runner ups Arsenal were said to have shown a strong interest in pursuing Asensio earlier this year. Should Luis Enrique arrive at the Spurs hot seat over the summer, he is likely to be keen on signing the player for his new side.
Incoming Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino will be sure to revamp a squad that looks well stocked with creative players and Aensio is one of the names on his summer wish list.
