Chelsea are tipped to prioritise signing a new striker in the summer transfer window regardless of whether Romelu Lukaku remains at the Bridge.
The Blues front line has failed to hit the expectations this season – one of the reasons behind the disappointing season for Chelsea – and the club’s top brass are expected to give their backing for bringing in new faces.

According to a recent tweet from the transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the west London club will be in the market this summer for a new No.9 with the incoming head coach Mauricio Pochettino giving his approval to the plan.
It is also said that Romelu Lukaku’s future at the club, which has been the subject of much speculation as of late, will have no bearing on Chelsea’s activity in the summer window with the Blues likely to reinforce their attacking ranks.
A decision over Lukaku’s future is expected to be made come June with the Chelsea camp yet to open talks with Inter over a permanent move to San Siro for the Belgium striker who has rediscovered his touch in front of the goal in recent weeks.
