Luis Enrique is no longer a favourite for the Chelsea managerial vacancy with the Blues narrowing down their search for candidates to take over from Frank Lampard in the summer.
The former Spain and Barcelona head coach was tipped as one of the names on Chelsea’s shortlist with the Premier League giants committing to an extensive search for their longer-term appointment to the top job.
According to a report from football.london, however, Enrique could be seen dropping out of the race with Chelsea holding some doubts over hiring him after he made several demands during the talks two weeks ago.
Chelsea’s city rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, meanwhile, could be edging closer to Enrique’s appointment with the North London outfit with the manager not expected to have any further talks planned at the Bridge.
Julian Nagelsmann and Mauricio Pochettino are said to be the two frontrunners for the Chelsea job with the latter interviewed by the Blues and impressed co-controlling owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali last year.
