Manchester United keeping close tabs on Chelsea’s on-loan forward Joao Felix

Manchester United are reportedly keeping close tabs on Chelsea’s on-loan forward Joao Felix ahead of this summer’s transfer window.

Felix made the move to the Blues in the January window earlier this year on a short-term loan and has impressed in the attacking third of the pitch for a struggling Chelsea side who have now gone down to 11th in the Premier League table.

There is speculation doing the rounds that Chelsea would be making an offer to make Felix’s transfer to the Bridge permanent over the summer as the Blues co-owner Todd Beohly is keen to retain the Portugal international’s services.

According to a report from the Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo ( via Goal), however, Chelsea’s plans for Felix could be spoilt by arch-rivals Manchester United who are emerging as serious contenders to sign Felix should he leave Atletico Madrid permanently this summer.

United look almost certain to qualify for next season’s Champions League, which is proving to be an uphill task for Chelsea, and the absence of European elite club football could be a major factor for Felix in deciding his next destination.
