Chelsea are reportedly not willing to allow Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to sign for Barcelona this coming summer on a free transfer with the Blues keen to recoup some money for him.
The Gabon striker made the move to Stamford Bridge last summer from Barcelona where he had fallen down the pecking order after the Catalan outfit signed Polish frontman Robert Lewandowski.
Aubameyang, however, has struggled to impress nearly a year into his life in west London and there has been speculation doing the rounds that Chelsea would be looking to cash in on the 33-year-old who does not feature in Graham Potter’s plans.
According to a report from SPORT, a return to Camp Nou, with Barcelona credited with an interest in re-signing Aubameyang, would not be for free with Chelsea left angered by Aubameyang’s visit to Spain to watch Barca’s Clasico win over Real Madrid before the international break.
The Blues also need to balance their books after spending big on new signings in the January transfer window and allowing Aubameyang to leave for free would not be in their best interests.
