Chelsea are working hard to ensure that their on-loan forward Joao Felix stays at the Bridge beyond the summer when his loan spell is due to expire.
Felix signed for Graham Potter’s side in the January transfer window from Atletico Madrid on a short-term loan until the end of the season and the Portugal international striker has impressed the Chelsea manager with his displays.
According to a report from the Portuguese outlet Relevo, it is claimed that the Blues are keen to make Felix’s transfer a permanent one and the club are working to extend his terms before the next season gets underway.
A return to his parent club Atletico is expected to be unlikely for Felix whose falling out with the manager Diego Simeone is well documented and the former would prefer to pile his trade with Chelsea rather than move back to Spain.
Felix has failed to impress in the La Liga with Atletico following his big-money move to the Spanish capital from Benfica and Atletico could be willing to part ways with him this summer and recoup a share of the fee they paid to sign him.
