Chelsea have reportedly cooled their interest in signing Borussia Monchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram, who will become a free agent this summer.
Thuram is in line to run down his current terms with Monchengladbach which are due to expire at the end of the season and Chelsea were rumoured to be one of the contenders vying for the Frenchman’s signature.

According to a report from Sky Germany, it is claimed that the Blues camp are no longer keen on pursuing the 6ft 4in forward while Bayern Munich are another suitor to have turned their back on their former target.
It remains to be known why the two European bigwigs have made the decision to walk away from signing the soon-to-be free agent Thuram who has turned out in 23 of Gladbach’s 24 Bundesliga matches so far this season.
Newcastle United, following the takeover at St. James’ Park by a Saudi-based group, are said to be keeping tabs on Thuram ahead of this summer’s transfer window with the Magpies boss Eddie Howe looking to bolster his front line.
