According to the latest reports, Chelsea talisman Eden Hazard has agreed on personal terms to join European champions Real Madrid in the January winter transfer window.
There is no doubt that Real Madrid have been keen on luring Chelsea winger Eden Hazard to the Santiago Bernabeu for quite some time now and the Los Blancos will give it another go in the winter transfer window. The Spanish giants are still on the lookout for a replacement for Portuguese ace Cristiano Ronaldo and Hazard fits the bill.
Hazard admitted that a move to Real Madrid would be a dream come true in his career but has also insisted that he is happy at the West London club. The 27-year-old has helped Chelsea to win two Premier League titles, a League Cup as well as an FA Cup and has taken his game to the next level during this term.
The Belgian superstar is yet to sign a contract extension with Chelsea and is stalling a new deal. Hazard’s current contract with Chelsea expires in the summer of 2020 and even though Chelsea are reluctant to let their superstar leave anytime soon, they have slapped a £170 million price tag on the attacking midfielder.
But Chelsea fans will be gutted to know that a Spanish radio Onda Madrid claimed that Real Madrid has agreed on personal terms with Hazard over a potential move to the Spanish capital and are now working on a deal to bring Hazard to Real Madrid.
Madrid isn’t yet willing to pay the sum of fees that Chelsea are demanding but the La Liga outfit will be hoping to include a deal with on-loan midfielder Mateo Kovacic who is at Chelsea. The Los Blancos also stole star Belgian keeper Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea in the summer transfer window as Croatian midfielder Kovacic was a part of that deal.
