Chelsea managerial target Luis Enrique eyeing a return to the dugout

Chelsea managerial target Luis Enrique is eyeing a return to the dugout after leaving his position as the Spain manager in the aftermath of the 2022 World Cup.

The Spanish coach is understood to be one of the names considered by the Chelsea board who are on the lookout for options with the pressure on the under-fire Graham Potter greater than ever.

A woeful run of results have left Chelsea languishing in midtable amid the growing prospects of missing out on European football next season which could lead to Potter being given the axe even before the end of this campaign.

According to the transfer guru Fabrizio Romano in his CaughtOffside column, Enriquie is keen to return to the sidelines and has his eye on the Chelsea top job amid reports that he had turned down an approach from the Brazil national team.

Enrique’s arrival at Stamford Bridge is likely to see the Spaniard get into talks with the Chelsea co-owner Todd Beohly over the need to overhaul the squad and bring in a few new faces over the coming summer.
