Chelsea are keen to move in for Sporting Lisbon defender Pedro Porro as the club is concerned over the lack of cover for the injured Reece James.
The England international defender has spent the majority of the season out on the sidelines and the Chelsea boss Graham Potter appears to be interested in signing a viable deputy for James in the right wing-back role.
According to a report from football.london, it is claimed that the Blues are prioritising a move for Porro with the 23-year-old fullback’s signature of much importance to Potter who is busy rebuilding his squad in the winter transfer window.
Tottenham Hotspur remain heavily interested in signing the Sporting defender with Antonio Conte’s side looking likely to provide stern stern for Porro to their city rivals Chelsea who have spent big this January on incomings.
Spurs are said to be in talks with the Sporting camp over a potential deal for the player but have not relented to the idea to pay that asking price up front and would rather pay it over several instalments.
