Premier League table toppers Arsenal are reportedly set to rival Chelsea in the race to sign West Ham United star Declan Rice next summer, according to a report from Fichajes.
Rice has long been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, where he had come through the youth ranks before joining The Hammers, and Chelsea have identified him as their top target for the summer transfer window.
The Blues would be urged to reinforce their midfield ranks with veterans N’Golo Kante and Jorginho all but certain to leave upon the expiry of their current terms which are up for renewal at the end of the season.
Chelsea’s plans for landing the England international Rice, however, could be provided a tough challenge by local rivals Arsenal who are keeping tabs on the West Ham skipper and would be looking to snap up the midfielder.
Graham Potter, new in the top job at the Bridge, is on the lookout for the perfect signing to bolster his options in the centre of the park and the Chelsea head coach is likely to prioritise a move for Rice with the west Londoners big favorites for the player.
